our leaf animal alphabet book

This week the children used black pens to add final detail to their leaf animal. 

We noticed that Chris Gluck used words on each page of her alphabet book to tell the name of the animal. We are learning that readers learn from the pictures and words in books. Words are important. We needed to write our animal names, too!

Using a printed copy of their animal's name as a guide, each child carefully printed their animal's name. They took their time and ensured it was their most powerful work.
