observing and representing

Our daily hikes have been a time to search for letters and build letters. To read maps and signs and to bring our literacy work into the woods.

Our daily hikes have been an opportunity to observe, learn, and represent. To notice changes in the trees, plants, and weather. To think like a scientist and connect our teaching books about Fall to what we observe on the trails.

Their paintings are now the front cover of their Nature Journals. The children will fill their Nature Journals with observations, predictions, and representations this school year!
