how many?

We have been exploring the question how many through our work with funny five frames, story problems to 5, and the sorting and counting of Fairy House materials. 

Children have practiced showing an amount in different ways; with pictures, numbers, or a number sentence. There has been a shared excitement around writing addition equations to match combined materials or story problems.
