Essential Standards;
Recognize and name all upper- and lowercase letters of the alphabet.
Demonstrate basic knowledge of one-to-one letter-sound correspondences by producing the primary sound for each consonant.
On our first remote Wednesday children used their sound power to work on and practice reading My Book of Letter J. Then they took on the J Challenge and found five things that begin with the /j/ sound. They were invited to add labels, listening for the beginning, middle, and ending sounds.
Here is a small collection of their powerful work from Seesaw!
Jacks, jam, juice, jewelry, jug, JILL, jacket, jet!
Essential Standards;
Understand the relationship between numbers and quantities; connect counting to cardinality.
Write numbers from 0 to 20. Represent a number of objects with a written numeral 0-20.
First we warmed up our counting by counting on the 100's chart. Then we built number combinations using two color tiles and our ten frames. Finally the children were invited to show 16. They collected, sorted, counted, and labeled!
There were many different ways to show 16!
