peer feedback

Academic choice is a beloved time in our classroom. It is a time to work on our literacy goals in different ways; from using sound power to add labels to a structure to playing with sounds through our many word puzzles. The children have recently practiced giving feedback to their peers using our community language of a star and a next step. We know there is always a next step and sometimes it takes many, many next steps. Learning is a process and we are growing with practice.

Below is a collection of pictures from our ongoing process. I shared the story of Austin's Butterfly and recorded the children's reflections. We used Austin's story to shape the share portion of our academic choice. One child shares something they worked on during choice and their peers provide specific and clear feedback. We have talked about drafts and persistence.

Our learning community is strong and there is power in peer feedback.
